We wrapped up our basketball season last weekend. It was so much fun helping coach this great group of kids! Brody's skills have improved tremendously as the season has gone on. He loves playing basketball and enjoys playing at home in the basement. He made several baskets in his last two games and we were very proud of him! He can't wait to play again next year!
I was able to spend time at both of the kids Valentine's parties at school this year. I helped plan Brody's and was able to enjoy Briana's with her as well. The kids loved all the Valentine's they got from their friends! They also enjoyed snacks, playing games and doing crafts.
Brody got his second report card a few weeks ago and he got all A's for his grades. We are very proud of him! He is really into reading and math and we have started to buy him beginning chapter books which he is really enjoying! He works on math problems at home and has recently started doing subtraction problems. He continues to love school and enjoys his time with his friends.
Briana is now writing her name with no assistance and has also started writing a variety of letters. She enjoys working on rhyming words and trying to find things that rhyme. She loves to play "shopkins" and has set up an area in her room where they all have their own little place. She has started to enjoy playing barbies as well and received a Disney Princess set from Grandma and Ampa for Christmas that she has been playing with daily.
We have been enjoying time outside with our unseasonably warm winter. We finally got some snow (our first since November) but it melted within two days. We have only had three snows this winter, all which have melted within a few days. The temperature has averaged around 40-50 degrees for most of this winter. I have only worn my winter coat a handful of times. Our winter's seem to be getting milder every year.
Tonight we have the annual fundraiser dinner for Brody's school. I have worked hard on getting donations for this event as well as putting together the classroom basket and project for the Kindergarten classes. We look forward to a fun night raising money for our wonderful school!
