Happy 4th of July, 11 months and 6 teeth!

This past week we celebrated Briana's 1st 4th of July!  The temperate was around 108 with the humidity last week (no joke!) so we did not do a whole lot outside other than swim in the pool!  We went to fireworks on Tuesday night in Davenport.  Brody was really excited about them all day but once we got there he just wanted to run around and really did not seem all that interested. Briana did ok but it was way past her bedtime and she is teething so she was a little fussy and tired.  Tim and I are nuts and stained our deck last Wednesday in the terrible heat.  It was the only time we really had free as the next few weeks are so busy for us.  It feels good to have it done and it is one more thing we can check off the list!

We bought a bigger pool for our backyard last week and we can all fit inside so it is a nice place to cool off. Last week we also took Brody to a public pool near our house.  He really enjoyed it as they had a kids slide and zero depth entry.  Briana loves the water too so it is really something we all enjoy together.  It has been so hot that the pool really didn't even feel that cool which is funny to say.  Last weekend we also took Brody to his favorite place, Monkey Joe's.  We have not been there in a long time so he was just thrilled to go.  I also let him feed the ducks at the park.  We have done this before on many occasions but this was the first time he really fed them on his own.  He really enjoyed it and there was a group of baby ducks that he got to see which was neat.

Briana just turned 11 months last week and  now not only has 3 teeth, but 6!  They just keep coming!  She is currently getting her four front teeth on the top and her two front ones on the bottom.  I can tell she is uncomfortable and I feel bad that she is getting so many at once.  I will definitely say it was much easier on Brody who got them much earlier and only got one at a time.  Briana is starting to pull up on things and will stand on her own for several seconds.  She seems in no hurry to walk or even cruise and that is fine with me!  She will stand at her toys when we stand her up and has started to pull up on her walking toy when she is trying to get things that she wants.  She seems so much smaller to me than Brody did at almost age 1.  She is just barely 19 pounds and he was 23 at a year so maybe that is why.  She is a little shorter than he was too.  A little peanut girl!

The next month is most likely going to fly by as not only do we celebrate Briana's birthday but we are also taking a vacation to Florida.  We will celebrate 5 years of marriage this year so we decided to take a trip to celebrate.  We debated on going out of the country but with two little kids that seemed like something we should wait to do until they are a little older.  We are all very excited and Brody asks about "Florida Beach" everyday.  I know he is going to have a blast as he is so into swimming right now that he will be on cloud 9 getting to swim everyday.  We are staying at a very nice resort with lots of things for the kids to do so it should be a great time.  It will be nice for us to get away and just relax.  We are leaving the day after Briana's birthday party so hopefully I can survive all that goes into putting on a party and packing/preparing for a week long vacation all packed into one! :)
