Our little boy has developed quite the little imagination these days and is really into "pretend" play. On top of his tool obsession, Brody has also started to pretend play in his kitchen area, making "food" and eating it out of the sink, finding "food" on the floor and feeding it to us and so on. He is also really into "doing" Mommy's hair which he likes to do with his tools or just use Mommy's brush. His new word this week is "Elmo". He is really into being affectionate and will give kisses and hugs on his own, sometimes several at a time. He likes us to clap for him after he does this. He enjoys looking at pictures of animals and listening to Mommy or Daddy make the animal sounds. Brody is officially wearing size 2T in clothes as he continues to grow at rapid speed. He seems to need a size smaller in pants in certain brands of clothes as his little legs don't want catch up with the rest of his body (just like Mommy and Daddy).
We had a fun weekend with dinner at Old Chicago on Friday night and brunch at Thunder Bay on Sunday morning. Everyone is always amazed at how good of an eater Brody is. He had spaghetti on Friday and a variety of things on Sunday. What can we say the kid loves food! He still amazes us by not caring for sweets, but loving his fruits and vegetables. We will enjoy this while we can! Brody is doing pretty good with feeding himself with utensils but still needs a little help. He is currently using his kid sized utensils but really wants to use Mom and Dad's. Daddy recently introduced Brody to his new favorite thing, Cheetos! Brody will go to the cupboard and try to find the bag of Cheetos on his own!
Mommy and Daddy have decided that Brody and his cousin Jackson are best friends and worst enemies at the same time. One minute they are playing so nicely together and the next minute they are on each others last nerve. They really do play nicely together for the most part but some days you really realize that they both have a mind of their own. Today was a day where they were getting along and Jackson pushed Brody around in his wagon. They were both laughing hysterically. Very cute to watch! I guess you have to expect the "frienimie" type of relationship when you are dealing with two boys that are together everyday, they are 5 months apart in age, and they are both 2 (or close to it)!
