It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.......

We have spent the last few days getting our home ready for the holidays. Daddy was traveling this week in Memphis so Mommy and Brody took advantage of the time to get out our Christmas decorations and also get some Christmas shopping done. It has been really fun to watch Brody explore the tree and other decorations this year as last year he was only 9 months old and crawling and even though he was curious it was nothing like he is now. Mommy decided (as I'm sure most Mom's with young one's do) to but all of the breakable ornaments at the top and the unbreakable ones at the bottom. Brody has taken some of the bottom ones off but then tries to put them back on the branches himself (so cute!). Last year Grandma Diane bought Brody a Little People Nativity Set and this is such a hit with him this year! He loves playing with his little people and the manger and the manger plays "Away in a Manger" when you push the top which Brody can do on his own. He also enjoys Mommy's singing snowmen and Snoopy from Hallmark, which he knows how to push the buttons on to play the music. Needless to say we hear these songs probably 50 times a day each. :)

This morning we took Brody to the mall to see Santa. It was the first day that Santa was there so we planned to go now and beat the crowds. Brody LOVED him and amazed us by doing so well! You never know how children are going to react but our kid absolutely LOVES Santa and the Easter Bunny! And we are not complaining because it is going to make for wonderful memories for us as opposed to the pictures our parents have of us crying on his lap. He gets so mesmorized, it is so sweet to watch. Brody loved touching Santa's beard and the fur on the cuffs of his jacket. The lady had asked if we wanted to stand next to him in case he was afraid and we said we would just see how he did and sure enough he was just fine! And really happy! Next year may be a different story but for now we are enjoying the experience and getting some great pictures while we are at it!

Next week is Thanksgiving and we have a pretty hectic schedule but that is with all holidays. It will be nice to get together with our families and extended families. Mommy is somewhat sad as this will be her first holiday without any of her Grandparents. We wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and have a safe holiday and safe travels!
