Brody officially turned 19 months old yesterday. We had a busy weekend around our house. It seems like we are pretty busy from now through the end of the year, the calendar just seems to keep filling up! Brody has cut his last two bottom teeth over the past few weeks, which make for #15 and #16 and also completes the teeth he will get until he gets his 2 year molars sometime after his 2nd birthday. Brody continues to show us how smart he is by figuring things out on his own and exploring everything around him. This is such an amazing age because you really can just see the wheels turning in his head as he figures new things out. He really enjoys putting toys inside something and closing it or turning toys upside down that have a hole in the bottom of them and sticking toys inside that way as well. He is giving high fives and loves to play "chase" where he runs around the table and one of us or another child comes after him. He is starting to run pretty strongly and seems to get faster by the day. He continues to be such a sweet, loving and caring child and is still sharing his toys with anyone around. He gives wonderful hugs and kisses and is always looking to give or receive affection. He continues to love dancing and Mommy got him a Halloween bear that sings Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Brody knows how to turn it off and on and dances to the music. His new dance moves include turning in a circle, tapping his foot to the beat and bending his knees in a bouncing motion. He has some great moves!
Over the weekend we celebrated cousin Jackson's 2nd birthday with a little party at Grandma and Grandpa's. His official birthday is on Thursday. Hard to believe that almost two years ago little Jackson was born 5 1/2 weeks early at just 4 pounds, 14 ounces and Brody was a little peanut in Mommy's belly that we had not found out was a boy yet. What a long way we have come! Brody and Jackson had a great time playing at the party, mostly with the balloons. Brody is not big on sweets so he was given a cupcake but didn't eat it. It is funny because honestly our child would rather eat fruits and vegetables than sweets. We will be going to Jackson's house on Thursday to celebrate his official birthday. We would like to wish him a wonderful year to come and can't wait to see what this year has to offer!
On Saturday night we had dinner at the Machine Shed. Neither one of us had been there in many years and Daddy had mentioned it a few weeks back so we thought we would give it a try. They have tractors out front which is where the picture of Brody and Mommy on the tractor came from. They also do hayrack rides on the weekends and have a bonfire out front where you can cook smores which we thought was pretty neat!
It was a very special weekend for Mommy and Daddy as on Friday we were both asked by Carvell and Tiffany to be Godparents of their son, Carvel Cash. We are both very honored to have been asked to do this! We will be heading to Des Moines in a few weeks for the baptism and are very excited for this opportunity!
Here are some new pictures.....
