This will be our last post for awhile as we are getting ready to leave for our week long vacation to Virginia Beach is just a few days. We have decided to drive the 17 (or so) hour trip because flying is so expensive and now there are so many extra charges to fly anything over just your luggage. With a one year old and all that we need to bring for him the extra charges would add up to more than a plane ticket. We will drive halfway and stay over night and then drive the rest of the way on the second day. We are really looking forward to a nice relaxing vacation and getting to spend some quality time with Grandpa Mike and Grandma Debbie.
Brody will officially be a 17 month old on Wednesday! One more month and he will be a year and a half! Last weekend we were able to get together with our friends the Luchsingers for dinner at our house. Brody and Brayden had a great time swimming and playing together. Brayden really wanted to take a bath with Brody so the boys had a great time in the bathtub (with pictures to prove it that Natalie and Mommy will use as blackmail later on :). On Sunday we took Brody to the Mississippi Valley Fair for the first time. He loved looking at all of the animals, we even saw some baby chicks being born which was really neat! He loved the cows and horses. Brody got to try his first funnel cake and pink lemonade. He loved both and kept wanting more lemonade. He also enjoyed some of Mommy's taco and Daddy's cheese balls. We walked to the fair since it is so close to our house but got caught in a pretty bad storm when we were getting ready to leave so Daddy ran home to get the car and came back to pick Mommy and Brody up. We have been swimming quite a bit this past week with the weather being so hot, we even went a few nights after Daddy got home from work this week.
Brody continues to not be sleeping the best, we are hoping this is just a phase. We know he is teething as he is drooling all the time and chewing on his fingers and most anything else he can get his hands on. He has started saying Grandma (Grag-ga) and Grandpa (Amp-pa) over the past few weeks. He is also blowing on his musical flute from his music set and is able to blow hard enough to make the sound come out of it. Once he blows on it he will take it to anyone in the room and hand it off so they can blow on it too. He continues to share all of his toys with us very nicely and is still in his very lovey stage which is great. Brody got a haircut last weekend and is looking very handsome just in time for vacation.
Tomorrow we will be heading to Cedar Rapids to celebrate Grandma Seng's 92nd birthday. Happy Birthday Grandma! We look forward to telling everyone all about our vacation when we get back! Hope everyone is well and take care!
