We arrived in town last night after a wonderful week in Virginia Beach! We had such a great time there and did not want to leave! Brody handled the 17 plus hour trip wonderfully, Mommy and Daddy said we should have recorded him because no one would ever believe us about how great he did! A co worker of Daddy's let us borrow her portable DVD player and since Brody doesn't watch TV he was very entertained on the way out there. On the way back he enjoyed watching out the window and playing with Mommy. He barely made a sound the entire trip and never even cried! The only time he was a little cranky was when he was tired and at that point within a few minutes he was out! We drove about 10 hours the first day and tried to stay in little town called Ashland, Kentucky. There were 3 hotels in this town and they were all booked due to the county fair being in town. We decided to drive a little further into West Virginia for the night. The first hotel we stopped at was also booked due to Marshall University having their move in week and at that point we were pretty sure Daddy was about to loose it but luckily the hotel across the street had a few rooms. We made it to Virginia Beach on Thursday and Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Mike were SO excited to see Brody (and us to of course!) On Friday we took Brody to the Virginia Aquarium and Science Center. Brody had a blast and loved seeing all the big tanks with all the animals! You take a nature hike from the aquarium to the science center which is about a 10 minute walk where you can see the marsh. Brody fell asleep on the walk back. We stopped for lunch and enjoyed swimming in Grandma and Grandpas pool afterward. We enjoyed a nice dinner out with some of Grandma and Grandpa's friends on Friday night. Brody was so exhausted from traveling and everything that we had been doing that he slept in Mommy's arms for almost the whole dinner. On Saturday Daddy and Grandpa went golfing in the morning and Mommy and Grandma went shopping in the afternoon. We had a nice dinner at a really good italian restaurant. Brody got his favorite, spaghetti and meatballs, and was able to have his other favorite, Dairy Queen, after dinner. On Sunday we took Brody to the zoo in Norfolk. We had dinner with Daddy's godmother Cindy who had had not seen in many years. After dinner, Daddy, Mommy, Brody and Grandpa went down to the beach. We let Brody stand on the sand when the tide came up and he got the bottom of his shorts wet, while Mommy and Daddy got drenched. He loved the sand between his toes and the cool water. We left on Monday to make our trip back to the Quad Cities. We had such an amazing time there and look forward to taking Brody back again and again as he grows. A special thanks to Grandma and Grandpa and all they did for us while we were there! Brody is such a lucky little guy to have such wonderful Grandparents. He is definitely a little on the spoiled side! :) Here are some pictures from our trip.
