16 and 1/2 months

It has been a very exciting weekend for our family! As posted earlier, our sister/aunt Kimberly got engaged on Friday. We couldn't be happier and look forward to celebrating the big day in the near future. We would also like to wish Uncle Brett and Aunt Melissa a very Happy Anniversary tomorrow!!

Brody has been some what under the weather this week. Cousin Jackson had a cold earlier in the week and a few days later Brody started developing similar symptoms. We have had a lot of difficulty with Brody's sleeping for over two weeks now. On Thursday he woke up with a slight fever (after only sleeping about 2 hours on Wednesday night) so Mommy decided to take him to the doctor and get him checked out. His ears and throat looked a little irritated but no ear infection. He was also very congested and had a very runny nose. The doctor decided to give him an antibotic to help clear up everything that he had going on. Last night he did better with sleeping, only up a couple of times. We are hoping that over the weekend he is back to normal! The doctor said that Mommy should be proud that this is only the second time he has had cold like symptoms in his 16 months of life. Being a "germ freak" as Daddy calls it has paid off in keeping our little guy healthy as a horse!

Brody continues to be a happy and laid back little guy. When we are out and about we get asked all the time "Is he always this good?" The answer is yes and we feel very lucky for that! Brody is now saying "Yes" and "Wha?" (for what). He is talking all the time and is learning new things all the time. This week he has started to dance when Mommy says "Dancin, Dancin", it is really cute to watch! We have been trying to upload video onto here but it always says our files are too big so we will have to start making shorter videos. He loves to "ride the pony" by bouncing on our knees and rocking back and forth to "Row, Row, Row your Boat." He is giving kisses and hugs all the time and has started to intentionally bump into things to get the attention from us. He is really enjoying opening and closing doors and getting into everything he can get his little hands on. He has definitely realized what his boundaries are and is always trying to see how far he can push them.

We have a fun and busy weekend ahead of us and it is hard to believe but in a little over a week we will be leaving for vacation! We are looking forward to a much needed, relaxing week off! Hope everyone is doing well.
