The Wonderful 1's

Can't he stay like this forever?? We are currently experiencing the best stage by far with Brody. He has to be the sweetest, most loving 1 year old on the planet! He is sharing everything, he will just bring toys over to us for no reason and hand them off. We end up with a pile of toys around us when he is done. He is giving kisses all the time and hugging us all the time. He is so happy and has started to copy us when we are laughing at something, even though he has no idea what we are laughing at, he has to laugh too, and by laughing I mean cracking up! When we sneeze he will copy us also now and make his own sneezing noise. He is saying and doing the cutest things all the time! He continues to love "talking" on the phone and now will make a phone out of any object he can, including our T.V. remote. When one of our phones ring, he immediately puts the closest object up to his ear and begins talking away. He is starting to sing along with the songs that his toys sing (trying to sound exactly like the song) and has even started to do his own little bouncing dance along with the music. He enjoys putting his music drum on his head now as well (after seeing Daddy do it). We wish he could stay this way forever and just skip the "terrible 2's" stage completely!

Brody is getting his fourth tooth on the bottom (in the front) which will make tooth #12. We had kind of a scare this weekend. Brody had gotten his first two bug bites two weeks ago when we were outside taking pictures at Grandma Candy's party. On Saturday morning, two weeks later, we noticed they both had about a half inch of redness around them, in a circle. Mommy called the on call doctor and they said to take him to the walk in doctor's office or the ER as soon as we could. It ends up he was reacting to them, which caused a little infection. The doctor couldn't believe they were two weeks old. Mommy had gotten four bites on her arm the same day which still haven't gone away so maybe we got bit by the same bug. Needless to say we got some medicine and he is doing much better. All in all the bites never seemed to bother him much. There's never a dull moment around this house!

On Saturday, we were able to get together with our friends Carvell and Tiffany, Tatum and baby Carvel. Brody and Tatum had a lot of fun playing outside in the pools and water table. They were laughing hysterically and chasing each other, it is so cute to watch! Brody was so sweet with baby Carvel. Mommy recently taught him "gentle hands" and he used them with the baby, gently stroking his face. He was so curious about the baby and kept wanting to be around him. These three will definitely be great friends as they grow up together.

Mommy is a sucker for cute things and in the pictures of Brody in his crib he is wearing Huggies summer edition "Jean" diapers. They are cute, not as cute as we thought they would be, but they still are cute!

Not much else is new around our house. Daddy did some traveling early this week to Kansas City to work on the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame. This is a busy time of year for him (well, pretty much every time of year is these days, but that's good for him!). We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend with not much going on. Hope everyone is doing well!
