16 months old!

Brody officially turned 16 months on Sunday. We had a week of firsts this past week when it comes to trying new foods. Brody tried a soft shell taco, meatballs and a popsicle for the first time. He loves them all of course! He ate 4 meatballs broken up and about half of a broken up soft taco with meat and cheese (not in the same meal but on two different occasions). Brody saw Daddy eating a popsicle and seemed interested so we let him try it. He wanted to hold the popsicle part in his hand (not the stick). He didn't seem to mind the coldness and knew just when to open his mouth for a lick.

We were able to get some pool time in this weekend and with temperatures in the 90's it felt great! Grandma Diane found Brody an adorable playhouse on Saturday. We couldn't be more thrilled and Brody absolutely LOVES playing in it!! He can get in and out of the door ways, uses the telephone and doorbell and enjoys opening and closing the shutters. Mommy has been looking for one for quite some time now and is so thankful that Grandma found one for us!

We are coming up on a busy weekend! Brody will be participating in his first race, the Kids Bix on Friday night. After learning from our neighbor Mr. Dunsworth (who is an official at the race) that the toddlers do the race on a donated piece of carpet we decided we would give it a try. Aunt Kimberly and Craig will also be in town to do the 7 mile Bix race on Saturday. We also have some friends coming into town and are excited to see everyone! We are looking forward to an exciting weekend ahead and will post an update on how Brody did in the race next week!
