Summertime Fun!

We have had a pretty rainy month for the month of June but we have still found plenty of opportunities to get outside!  For the summer the kids have been participating in the summer reading program from our local library and attending preschool story time each week.  The summer story time also includes craft time which has been a really fun addition this year!  Brody is attending preschool two mornings a week for the months of June and July.  I decided I would send him a little this summer to keep the consistency for him.  His class has water play, field trips and show and tell on the days that he goes so he is really enjoying that.  We have been attending the $1 movies offered each week at our local movie theater and have been keeping busy with swimming, going to parks and having picnics. We attended a field trip with Brody's class to the Pioneer Village at Scott County Park. We learned a lot of interesting things about how people used to live in the "old days".  We went strawberry picking in mid June and picked tons of great strawberries!  We took the kids mini golfing for the first time a few weeks ago as well. Brody took it very seriously and did very well!  We have gone bowling a few times too. Niabi Zoo had "Pirate and Princess Day" a few weeks ago and Briana was able to meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen!  She was so thrilled!! We are definitely keeping busy!
