Happy 4th of July!

Since the 4th fell on a weekend this year we were able to do lots of fun things.  We went to the zoo on Friday since Tim was off work and went to the parade and fireworks on Saturday. The kids rode the horses and fed the birds at the zoo, two things we hadn't done there before.  We also attended "Dan's Reading Roadtrip" at the Davenport Library put on by Iowa Public Television. The kids enjoyed participating and meeting an Iowa "celebrity".  We participated in our first ever "dress like a cow day" at Chick fil a.  Anyone who came in dressed like a cow from head to toe got free lunch. I made the kids cow shirts with pink fabric for the utters and black felt for the spots and colored some tall white socks with black dots for cow legs. We made headbands out of poster board. I got tons of compliments on how cute the kids looked!!
