Our preschool graduate!!

It has been a very exciting month!  Brody had his preschool graduation a few weeks ago.  It was absolutely adorable and he did awesome!  Words can not express how proud I am of my son!  He has come so far in the past year and to watch him up there on the stage during the performance was definitely one of my proudest Mommy moments this far.  Tim was unfortunately out of town and missed the graduation but Grandma Barb and Grandma Diane came to watch this special event.  His teacher put on a very nice ceremony and then we had pizza and cake afterwards.  Such a great day!

Brody also had his final conference for the year a few weeks ago.  His teacher was just glowing with her report of how well he has done this year.  He has the highest assessment scores out of all the children in the class.  He is so very smart and it shows in all he does.  He loves to help the other kids in the class and has been helping the teachers by working with some of the kids that are struggling with identifying letters and letter sounds.  Brody's class took their end of the year field trip to Niabi Zoo and Brody got to ride on a school bus for the first time.  He has talked about that non stop ever since, he really thought it was the coolest thing ever!  School has ended for the summer but I am sending Brody two days a week this summer for two hours just to keep the consistency.  He loves to go to school and I think it is good for him to keep the structure going in the summer months.  With him only going two days it still gives us a lot of time to enjoy the summer.  In the fall he will go back to going three days a week.

Briana finished her last music class today.  It is kind of bittersweet because I don't think we will be able to fit music in next year when she starts preschool.  We have been with this music teacher since Brody was 2.  Briana has loved music this year and has grown so much!  She listens so well and participates very well in class.  She really is growing up!  She is very excited to start school in the fall and talks about it a lot.  I think she is going to be somewhat shy at school but I think she will do well.  It is a little sad to think that in just two months both of my babies will be in school.  Briana will do two mornings this fall for two hours each day.

We had a very exciting weekend as we got to meet baby Carter!!  Kimberly and Craig came into town on Friday and left Sunday morning.  Melissa and I, along with two of Kimberly's friends,  did a Meet and Greet baby shower for Carter on Saturday.  The kids are absolutely in love with him and so are we!!  Brody and Briana were great with him and they have talked about him non stop since meeting him.  They were very excited to meet him and Brody is very excited that he is a boy!  He can't wait to teach him lots of boy things.  It was sad to see them go and we miss Carter already!  Hopefully they will be able to come back this summer sometime but we are excited to be going to Denver for a week to visit at the end of September!

Our summer is off to a pretty good start and we have been doing lots of fun things to enjoy ourselves.  The kids had their first trip to the spray park last week and we have been to the zoo a few times as well.  We have been going to parks, playing outside and taking walks. The kids got to take their first trip to Brookfield Zoo in Chicago a few weeks ago with cousin Jackson.  It was super hot but we had a lot of fun!  The zoo is so much bigger than I remember it as a child, so much to see and do!  They even have a little children's museum type area inside the zoo.  Fun!

That is all that is new with us for now.  Summer is a busy time and we definitely keep ourselves busy!
