The Fair, Adventureland, Zoo and more of Briana's birthday!

Our past few weeks have been so busy with Briana's birthday and many summer activities.  We decided to head up the street to the Mississippi Valley Fair this year.  We have not been to the fair since the day after I got out of the hospital from having Briana so we thought we would give it a try.  We missed it last year because we were in Florida.  The kids had a good time eating lots of fair food, seeing the animals and playing games.  Very expensive but fun!

We made two trips to Adventureland in the past week, one for Briana's birthday and one on Tuesday with Jackson, Kari and my Mom.  Brody had NO FEAR and LOVES rides!!  He is much more daring than even I am!  I went on a few with him that left me feeling a little queasy when we got off! :)  He would have gone on every ride there but didn't meet the height limit on some of them.  They recently added a water park a few years back and it is really nice.  TONS of stuff to do and we spent hours there without anyone getting bored!  So much fun and we can't wait to go back!  Briana enjoyed many of the rides too and was smiling from ear to ear!  So much fun!!

We have been making a weekly trip to the zoo as the weather has not been terribly warm.  Brody loves feeding the animals and actually feeds them now instead of throwing food at them like last year. :)  The train is always one of their favorites too!

Some exciting family news for us, we got a new car!!  It was not at all expected but we were contacted by Lujack's that my car was in high demand for trade in.  They gave us a few options of cars that we didn't really like as they were a little smaller than what we already had.  We were in no rush to get rid of my car as it has had no problems and we were happy with it.  They kept coming back with car options and finally had one we liked so we went for it.  So worth it as now we have a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty and 100,000 mile power train warranty.  I love it, it's a great car (Hyundai Santa Fe).  We really need to get a new car for Tim and that is more what we were looking for but this was something we couldn't pass up.  Tim will definitely need a new car sooner than later so that will be our next project.
