Florida here we come!!!

After an amazing week in paradise we are back from our vacation in Destin, Florida.  What an amazing trip we had and it was really hard to come home!  I am still finding white sand in everything we own which makes it even harder. :)  After a whirlwind of a weekend celebrating Briana's birthday we hit the road at 6 am on Monday to head to Florida.  We drove really far the first day with only 4 hours left to go on the second.  We stopped that first night in Cullman, Alabama and stayed at a hotel, had a nice dinner and swam.  We took our time the next morning and left around 8 so we could get to our hotel in Florida in early afternoon as check in was not until 3.  We got there a little early but they let us check in anyway.  To say the resort that we stayed at was beautiful is an understatement.  I think Tim and I would both agree that it was one of the nicest places we have ever been (closely tied with our honeymoon in Jamaica).  The resort had to have at least 15 buildings along with it's own private village with shopping, restaurants, a zip line, you get my drift.  The views and pools were so beautiful.  The kids had a great time as well which was the most important to us.  It was an all over great time and we will definitely go back!

Our first day there we hit the beach and pool right away.  There were several pools but we used the one right outside our building the most.  It had it's own waterfall which Brody loved.  This resort was 100% geared towards kids and it showed.  That evening we went to a nice dinner and just tried to recoupe after the drive.  The next morning we got up early and went to breakfast and then hit the beach and pool again.  In true Florida fashion we got some sort of rain each day but were lucky to dodge it for the most part.  There was an outlet mall less than a mile from the resort so we went there daily (LOL). Briana was totally off her nap schedule so we would take her over there and walk with the stroller to get her to sleep and then we would shop.  We went over to the Village on the resort for lunch and they had the biggest playground I had ever seen that Brody enjoyed playing on.  They had an old fashioned candy shop there, so I took Brody and let him pick out a few things.  $15 later we left with 4 things but I will say they were good.  On Thursday we went to the Aquarium which was neat because all of the enclosures were outside.  It was nice but nothing like the Shedd (even though it cost the same).  Thursday night we went to Joe's Crab Shack as Tim really wanted seafood while we were down there.  They had a guy singing there that took requests and we requested a song for Brody.  It was so cute because once he started singing Brody got a look on his face like "How does he know that??".  He started singing out loud and told the guy "Good song" when he was all done singing.  Priceless.  That was our best behaved meal of the trip by both kids as they were just mezmorized by the guy singing.  So fun!  We spent our last day enjoying the beach and pool and doing some last minute shopping.  We decided to do the drive back all in one day so we left Florida around 6am and got home around 10:30 P.M with stopping for 3 short stops.  The kids did awesome on the drive, they really behaved great.  I always limit Brody's T.V. time so he watched a few videos but mostly he read and sang songs with me to pass the time.  We played a lot of "I Spy".  Briana slept here and there but she kept entertained with her toys and snacks.  We had such a great time and I can't wait to go back!!
