It has been an exciting and busy weekend for us as Mommy celebrated her 31st birthday. We spent the weekend with good friends and family and had a great time! On Friday night we had dinner with our friends Natalie, Bryan and Brayden at Azteca. On Saturday we celebrated Tatum's 3rd birthday with a swimming party at the Bettendorf YMCA. Brody had a blast and we love the pool there as it is kid friendly and zero depth entry. We will definitely be going back there! On Saturday night Mommy and Daddy went on their first "date night" in over 8 months. Grandma Barb watched Brody and we had a nice dinner at Biaggi's and went to a movie, which was nice for us. On Sunday we went to church, had lunch at Old Chicago, did some shopping and had a nice dinner with Grandpa Mel, Grandma Diane, Kari and Jackson at Lunardi's. It was a great weekend and we had lots of fun celebrating!
Brody had kind of a weird week as he ran a fever with no other symptoms. Mommy took him to the doctor and everything checked out fine. He only had about half of his normal appetite and was very cranky. Very strange for us as he has hardly ever ran a high fever in two years, only 2 times (once for an ear infection and once for a vaccination reaction). It took a few days but he seems to be getting back to normal. When they weighed him at the doctor he was 28.8 pounds. Daddy and Mommy were sure he had hit the 30 pound mark by now as he is a lug to carry these days! We go in two weeks for his 2 year check up so we will see then! Crazy to think but as of next Friday we will have a 2 year old little boy! We are looking forward to another fun weekend celebrating coming up!
I would have to say the highlight of our weekend is we are pretty sure we know the gender of baby #2!!! We went on Saturday morning and our little baby decided SHE would give Mommy an early birthday present. Yes, I said SHE and it looks like we are having a baby GIRL and Brody is going to have a baby SISTER!!! If you can't tell we are absolutely thrilled! At the beginning of the ultrasound our little stinker was not cooperating as usual (can we say modest?) and at the end the lady said "that is the shot I want right there" and paused the screen. She showed us 3 little lines and in my mind I was thinking boy parts and she asked if I knew what that meant. I said no and she said that's a baby girl! Both Grandma's and Brody went with us and there was not a dry eye in the room as we were shocked, surprised and overly joyed all at once. We go next week for our hospital ultrasound but as of right now we are pretty confident. There was definitely no little boy parts there like we saw with Brody. Here are a few pictures and also a wonderful picture of Mommy at 18 weeks pregnant.
Thank you to all of our friends and family for the birthday wishes, calls and gifts, it means so much! I have a feeling this year is going to completely change our lives!
