We got together last night at Grandma Candy's to celebrate Aunt Melissa's birthday, which was on Saturday. And since Mommy's is next weekend we decided to celebrate both at the same time. We want to wish Melissa a very Happy Birthday and a wonderful year to come! Brody enjoyed singing "Happy Birthday" and liked to see the candles blown out. We had cookie cake and Brody took a few bites but he still does not seem to be a fan of sweets. He is more of an ice cream fan, like his Mom! We have discovered a sweet that he loves at that is Oreo cookies! Mommy is going to try and figure out some way to incorporate that into at least one of his birthday cakes.
Even though all of our snow had melted, we had two mini snow falls over the past few days and now we have some snow on the ground again. Last night we had rain which turned to ice which is never fun! On Saturday we went to a birthday party for one of Mommy's former preschool students who is now 8 years old! Brody liked carrying around the presents but didn't try to open them. He also found a few small hand weights and lifted two 3 pound weights, one in each hand, and an 8 pound weight with one hand (he is obviously his father's son!) They have a piano at their house and Brody sat on Mommy's lap and played piano for a long time. We got many compliments on how quiet and well behaved our little boy is.
We have been gradually getting out some of Brody's Christmas gifts as it is more fun for him to get things a little at a time than all at once. This weekend Daddy blew up Brody's car ball pit that he got from Aunt Kari and Jackson. Jackson has this toy at his house and it is Brody's favorite thing to play in over there. Once this was blown up he did not want to get out of it!! Mommy and Daddy joked that we should give him a blanket so he could sleep in there. What a fun gift and we can already tell he will get many hours of enjoyment out of it.
Not much else is new around here. Hope everyone is doing well!
