23 months old, an uncooperative baby and Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

We celebrated Valentine's Day with a heart shaped pizza and a quiet night at home. Our living room looked like Christmas morning that night so I guess we can say Brody had quite a few Valentine's surprises. His two favorite things he got are his new Elmo slippers and a mini singing broom for the kitchen because he always wants to use Mommy's broom in there to sweep like her. Now that he has his own he is quite the little sweeper. This week he has started to make "meow" sounds like a cat. Aunt Kari got him a two Valentine books, one about puppies and one about kitties, and he has us read these at least 20 times a day. We make the sounds of the animals and he is starting to repeat us. It's hard to believe but on Friday Brody turned 23 months old. So strange to think that almost 2 years ago he was born and we brought him home from the hospital for the first time. Daddy and Mommy were talking about that yesterday and it is so crazy to think it has just been two years but we could not imagine (nor can we even remember) life without him. Brody's love for Elmo continues and we went to Toys R Us over the weekend and as we went down the "Elmo" aisle he was squealing Elmo! Another cute story of the week is we went to Hy-Vee to get some fruit and as we were walking down the fruit aisles I would point to the different fruits: bananas, apples, etc and he would tell me what they were. Two old ladies were in the aisle and just went on and on about how cute and smart he was. They said "he passed my test" when I asked him what kind of fruits they were. So cute and I know it made those ladies day!

We would like to wish Grandpa Mel a very Happy Birthday and a wonderful year to come! Yesterday was his birthday and we celebrated with a nice dinner at Lunardi's last night. Brody had his favorite meal, spaghetti!

On Saturday we had our follow up ultrasound from last week to see if we could determine the sex of baby #2. Unfortunately the cord was still between the legs so we really have no clue what we are having!! Last week the lady was leaning more towards a boy but this week she said the cord is clear and usually you can see something solid behind the cord for a boy, which she didn't see so who knows! We have another appointment in two weeks and we are both really hoping this little peanut cooperates because we are going crazy! But we have to admit that continuing to see this miracle growing inside of Mommy is amazing and to know we still have two more times to see him or her is exciting to say the least. On Saturday we also got to see the baby in 3D and the little face looks just like Brody! Absolutely amazing that they can do that!! In the meantime we are having fun playing the guessing game I guess but just really want to know for sure!! I guess if all else fails we will just have to wait until mid March when we have our ultrasound with our doctor.

We have been having warmer temperatures over the last week and all our snow has melted! We have taken Brody on a walk and outside to enjoy the nice weather. It is so nice to get some fresh air after being cooped up all winter! We can't wait for Spring and really hope it is right around the corner!
