We often find ourselves talking about how thankful we are for all the blessings in our life. By far over the past two years the most incredible blessing either one of us could ever ask for is our beautiful, healthy son. Sometimes it is overwhelming to think of this impact this little man has had on our lives. We are also so incredibly thankful for our wonderful friends and family, without them we would not be the people we are today!
Mommy started out the week last week with some Thanksgiving crafts to do with Brody and Jackson. We do crafts for every holiday, beginning when Brody was born, but this is the first time the boys were really interested and helped with their crafts. They turned out really nice and will make great memories!
Brody has started to treat his small stuffed animal bear as his "baby". Mommy will ask him to "go find his baby" and he will find the bear and then when he is asked to "kiss the baby" he will kiss his bear and carry it around with him for long periods of time. This is very cute to watch. Every once in awhile he will bite the bear or throw it across the room but he is starting to show a loving attachment to this stuffed animal. Very sweet!
We hope that every had a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving weekend. Ours was very busy but great at the same time. We celebrated Thanksgiving with lunch with Mommy's family. Brody had turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, corn, and a little pumpkin pie. He mostly enjoyed running around everywhere chasing his cousin Jackson. We went to Grandma Candy's in the afternoon for dinner/snacks. We had a great day and Brody was so exhausted he feel asleep on the car ride home!
Mommy had to work her usual 5am shift on the day after Thanksgiving. Daddy had the day off this year so he got to have a fun morning with Jackson and Brody while Mommy worked. On Saturday we celebrated big buddy Brayden's 3rd birthday with a party at Brayden's house. Brody loved playing with all the kids and especially loved the balloons. Brody has showed us his first official "crush". Mommy's friend Jenny has a daughter who is 3 months younger than Brody, Kiera. Over the summer we went to Cedar Rapids for Kiera's birthday party and Brody was chasing her, laughing, and flirting the whole time we were there. When he saw her on Saturday he buried his head in his lap like he was embarassed. He kept acting really shy around her but eventually warmed up and the two were playing non stop. Brody saw Kiera crying and so he had to cry as well. Oh, puppy love! Brody enjoyed watching Brayden open all of his really cool presents but still is mostly interested in the boxes and wrapping paper. Happy Birthday Brayden, we love you!!
Aunt Kimberly came into town on Saturday afternoon and Uncle Craig came into town on Sunday night. We celebrated Uncle Craig's birthday on Sunday with dinner and ice cream cake. Julia and Maggie decorated with signs, balloons and streamers. We would like to wish Uncle Craig a very Happy Birthday and wonderful year to come! We are glad we could celebrate with him.
Here are some new pictures of our little man from this weekend.
