Pumpkin Patch

We had such a great weekend that I am going to break it up into two posts. On Saturday we took Brody to the Pumpkin Patch in Long Grove called "Pride of the Wapsi". This is a tradition in Daddy's family and we have gone with Julia and Maggie several times but this was the first official time Brody was able to visit the pumpkin patch. Last year we just took him to pick out a pumpkins at a local church since he was so little. It was an unexpected cold and windy day so we bundled Brody up. We rode the hay rack out to the patch to pick out our pumpkins. Brody liked walking over all the vines and was interested in the sounds he made as he walked. Once we got to the pumpkins, Brody kept trying to climb up on them and stand on them. We let him sit on the ground and rustle the vines with his feet. Brody and Daddy picked out two small pumpkins-one for Brody and one for Addie. After the hay rack ride, we went with Julia and Maggie to try all of the activities. The girls enjoyed jumping in the bounce house and riding the horses. Brody had fun running in the open grass and seeing the all the animals they had there. Next year he will be a little bigger and able to do a little more. We had a great time and took lots of great pictures! What a great memory for all of us!
