On Sunday we drove up to Dubuque for a little getaway for the day/night. We took Brody to the Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium. Daddy has done some work at the museum so we were excited to see it! Brody had such a great time at the museum/aquarium! He always loves seeing the fish but there was a lot of hands on things for kids to do here which was great. Brody was able to play in the water and go inside a beaver house. He liked seeing the huge catfish, sharks, wide variety of river fish and even an alligator. He loved walking (or should I say running?) around like a big boy. This is a really neat place and so close to home so if you haven't been you should go! They recently added a second building this summer which is where all of the salt water fish were.
In the afternoon we went to the Grand Harbor Resort and Waterpark. They have an indoor waterpark which is geared towards children of all ages. Brody loved playing in the zero depth entry pool which had lots of little sprinklers, which are his favorite! He had no fear and went right through the water getting soaked and laughing as he did it! He was able to go down the baby slide (with Mommy of course) and coast along in the lazy river. He even played a game of pool basketball with Daddy. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed going down the big slides. It was not very crowded because it was a Sunday afternoon so we were really able to enjoy it. Brody had a great time (and so did Mommy and Daddy). It is just nice to get away every once in awhile and do something different! We both said we would like to go back someday. Here are some pictures of the other part of our fun weekend!
