We have pretty much spent the last week getting things back to normal after our long vacation. We are getting ready to head to Chicago this weekend to celebrate our upcoming anniversary like we did last year. We will be going shopping on Saturday and taking Brody to Shedd Aquarium on Sunday. He has absolutely loved the last two times at the aquarium so we are sure this will be a lot of fun for him (and us as well).
Brody is 17 and a half months old now and has been doing a lot of new things over the past few weeks. He is now just giving kisses randomly (rather than being asked to do so) and it is probably one of the most precious things he's done thus far. He continues to dance all the time and had recently started tapping his foot to the beat of music. He is a music lover and likes to have one of his toys playing music at all times. He is becoming a real climber and likes to climb on and off of his riding toys (no assistance needed) and is trying to climb off the couch. He can go up stairs pretty strongly and can go down with help. Two new words he has been saying are "yes" and "good". He is not quite sure what context to use them in but we hear them often. This puts us at around 13 understandable words, and thousands of others in Brody's language. He is beginning to help with getting dressed and will step out of a pair of shorts and hold a certain arm out when putting on a shirt. Changing diapers continues to be a challenge because he always wants to be on the move! This week he figured out how to take his own diaper off which was an experience, let's hope that doesn't happen again anytime soon! He is trying to repeat the words to certain songs by humming along to the beat and making words that sound similar in his own little language. He continues to eat anything and everything that is given to him and has recently started loving kiwi fruit and turkey deli meat. He is just such a sweet and happy little guy and we truly couldn't be more blessed. Here are some new pictures of the love of our lives. Hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend!
