End of Summer Fun!

Summer is almost over, but we have spent the last month fitting in as many fun activities as we can. The local fair was in town the first week in August so we took the kids and had a fun night riding rides and seeing all the animals. The kids and I took our first trip ever to the Iowa State Fair the 3rd week in August with Grandma Diane and Jackson. The fair was huge and there was so many neat things to do there. You really need more than one day to get through everything because it is all spaced out over a large area of land.  They had many great activities for kids and the kids loved seeing all the of the animals.  We spent the night at a waterpark hotel and the kids had a blast! The week before school started I let Brody pick something fun to do everyday. He picked the zoo, museum, bowling, miniture golfing and swimming. We took the kids on their first trip to Maquoketa Caves.  It was so neat for them and they enjoyed climbing and exploring.  We went to our first River Bandits game of the season and it was a night that wasn't too busy so we got to sit right in front. We attended the annual Fall Festival at Briana's preschool (and Brody's former school, crazy to say that!) and the kids enjoyed playing games and winning prizes. I took both kids to their back to school dentist check ups. This was Briana's first visit and she did SO good! I was so proud of her and got a lot of comments from everyone working there on how well she did for her age!  Brody had his check up also and did excellent, he was very well behaved and has perfect teeth with no cavities!  The x-rays showed his two bottom front teeth have the permanent teeth pushing them up so we may be getting our first visit from the tooth fairy soon! :)  We have definitely had a fun filled summer and we are sad to see it coming to an end!!
