Junior Bix, weekend in Chicago and Fair Fun!

Both kids ran the Junior Bix again this year.  They both did great!  Brody's #1 goal for the race was to beat his cousin Jackson, which he did, so he was happy!   I ran the race with Briana and Tim did it with Brody. Both kids got medals and popsicles at the end so that made their day!  The weather was actually cool again this year so it made for a really nice night!
                                                                                                                                                              We were able to spend a fun weekend in Chicago a few weeks ago.  We enjoyed a day at the Lincoln Park Zoo, stayed in a hotel and went to a neat place called Blackberry Farm.  The kids loved the farm!  They got to ride horses, do paddle boats, feed animals, ride a hayrack ride and train and play on a large playground. We had a great time and it was fun to get away for a few days!

Last week the fair came to town.  We live about a mile from the fairgrounds so there is definitely no getting past going to the fair!  We took the kids the first night this year.   They loved seeing all the animals, eating fair food and playing games.  I decided to take the kids the following day for kids day to ride rides.  They had a great time and Brody really has no fear when it comes to riding rides!!  He is not happy when he is not tall enough to ride certain ones.

Brody also caught his first fish this past weekend.  He went fishing for the first time with Daddy and caught a pretty good sized Blue Gil.  He was so proud of himself!!  Daddy had brought him his first fishing pole a few weeks ago and looks like they will be getting lots of good use out if it!

Summer is flying by and it is hard to believe it is August already!  We have been doing lots of fun things for Briana's birthday this past week!  Her party is tomorrow so I will do another post all about her birthday once her party is over!
