Last week we celebrated my 33rd birthday. It is funny as you get older that birthdays are really just another day and not that big of a deal. Honestly with mine being so close to Brody's I am more worried about his, his party, etc than to have much time to focus on mine. We celebrated with a morning at the museum and dinner with my family that night at Lunardi's. We celebrated at Grandma Candy's on Saturday with a nice dinner. Brody gets so excited about birthday's now and loves to sing "Happy Birthday". He wants to know who's birthday is coming up next so he can be ready to sing. Lucky for him this is a very busy birthday time of year for both of our families!!
This weekend we celebrated Tatum's 5th birthday at Michael's Fun World with Carvell and Tiffany's families. We had never been there before and the kids had a great time. They have a wide variety of things to do which is always great in keeping the attention of a 1 and 3 year old!
Briana had her 18 month check up on Thursday. She is FINALLY 21 pounds, 21 pounds 3 ounces to be exact! They are not at all worried about her weight and the doctor thinks she will just be petite. Since she is on the short side she has moved up to the 24% for weight (weight and height together help come up with the percentages). She is 31 inches tall so in the 14% for height. Better than the 2% and 4% she got last time. She is above and beyond where she should be for milestones and the doctor was very impressed with all her talking. She is also counting to 3 now and starting to string words together like "mommy up" or "up please". Her vocabulary is over 25 words and they like to see them have around 10 words at this age so she is doing great! She showed off her attitude at the doctor and really does not like going there if it is an appointment for her. She does not like to be messed with, most likely because of her ear troubles this far. I always love to hear good reports on the kids at the doctor as any mother does. Briana has started to draw, paint and play with stickers. I think she will have a love for art like her brother.
Brody is very excited for his birthday and he can't wait to be 4! Time flies and these past four years have passed us in a wink of an eye. We are so truly blessed to have such a great son, one who is so full of energy, yet so loving and sweet at the same time. He truly loves life and is such a happy little boy! We are having a kids swimming party at the YMCA for his birthday, 12 kids ages 9 down to almost 9 months, this should be interesting! :) He is so excited to play with his friends. I decided to surprise Brody with a trip to the waterpark in Dubuque Sunday night so we will be taking off after his party gets over at 5 to spend the night and have some fun at the waterpark. We will most likely be swimmed out by Monday night. You only turn 4 once!
