Happy Easter and Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Last week we celebrated Daddy's 32nd birthday! On certain years it falls very close to Easter which makes celebrating a little hectic with all the plans. We had a nice lunch on Thursday for Daddy's birthday and then on Thursday night I was working so he and the kids came out to eat which was nice to have them there. Happy Birthday Daddy, we love you so much!! We hope this next year is extra special, even though I know this past year will be hard to beat!

We had a very fun filled Easter weekend. On Wednesday night we took the kids to see the Easter bunny. Brody was not afraid at all but getting him to sit still is another story! On Friday I did a small Easter egg hunt at home for Brody and Jackson and they both did great finding eggs! On Saturday we made our first trip of the year to the zoo and they had an Easter egg hunt there. I think Brody was a little overwhelmed with all the kids there as he was not as into the egg hunt as he was at home. But he had a great time seeing the animals and riding the train. It was also Briana's first zoo trip but she slept the whole time. On Saturday night we went to Grandma Candy's for Easter and another egg hunt. Brody did great this time and filled his basket full of eggs. On Sunday we went to church after we explored all the goodies the Easter bunny left for us at our house. After church we went to breakfast with Grandma Diane and Aunt Kari and Jackson. When we got home we went on an Easter egg hunt in the backyard with all the eggs the Easter Bunny had left for us. Later that afternoon we went to Grandma Diane and Grandpa Mel's for Easter and did another egg hunt with cousin Jackson. Brody got so many treats in all his eggs and it was super fun this year because he really seemed to "get it" when it came to the egg hunts. Both kids were very spoiled with very nice Easter baskets from their grandparents and aunts and uncles. We have two very lucky kids and are very blessed to have such great people in their lives!

We ended a great weekend on kind of a yucky note. On Saturday when we left the zoo I had noticed Brody's eyes looked a little funny and this continued throughout the day. He mostly just looked overly tired but they still looked like that after he took a nap. They were still looking funny on Sunday and by Sunday afternoon he had red, blotchy, blood shot and swollen eyes. I called the doctor on call who thought it sounded like allergies and had me give Brody some Benadriyl. This seemed to help somewhat but when he woke up the next morning his eyes were swollen completely shut! So I took him in to see our doctor and sure enough something outside during his egg hunting aggravated his allergies. We have never had a problem with allergies before so it was scary to see him all swollen but now we will just have to watch and try and see what causes it if he reacts like that again. We were given some eye drops and allergy medicine. Hopefully it doesn't happen again but at least now we will be prepared.

We hope everyone had a very nice Easter!
