This past week we have been doing some crafts for Halloween. Brody got to paint one of the small pumpkins that we got at the pumpkin patch and we also got a ceramic pumpkin there that he was able to paint as well. He is very into coloring, drawing, painting and playing with stickers right now. He continues to really enjoy pretend play and loves when his friends come over to play and join with him. This week his buddy Brayden came over and they had a great time playing and dancing. He is beginning to recite favorite parts of books we read (and he is doing this with songs we sing also). His favorite thing to say at the end of a story is "The End". We have a Blue's Clue's book he loves to read about sharing and he says "A Clue, A Clue" every time we read it. He has another favorite book called Pig Kahuna and after reading it 20 times the other day I said it was time for the pigs to go to bed and had him say "Night Night Pigs". Now at bedtime when we say good night to everyone he has to throw in "Night Night Pigs", very cute! Brody is getting very good at recognizing colors, he knows red, yellow, blue, purple and green. Brody is becoming very independent and even though he has not been much of a climber in the past, he is now able to climb up on the kitchen chairs to sit at the table and is able to get up on our couches and the rocking chair all on his own. He's growing up way too fast!
Briana is doing great, she did her first full out laugh this past week. She has been spitting up some but we are hoping it is something she will grow out of. She is still getting the hiccups all the time (which she did in the womb as well) so I think that contributes to her spit up because it often happens after she eats. She is getting very active with kicking her legs and arms and enjoys her time playing on the floor. She continues to get stronger all the time and she has rolled over once from her back and from her back to her side several times.
We would like to wish cousin Jackson a very Happy Birthday as he turns three years old today! We are looking forward to celebrating with him with dinner tonight and a party on Sunday. It is so hard to believe he is three! And once his birthday hits that means Brody's is just around the corner. Time sure does fly!
