It has been quite awhile since we have done an "official" post and we apologize for that. As most of you know it has been a difficult few weeks for our family with the passing of Grandma Seng. Brody attended his first visitation and funeral and for only being a one and a half year old he did great! Thanks again to everyone who has been supportive to us during this difficult time, the thoughts and prayers are much appreciated.
Brody officially became an one and a half year old on Saturday September 18th. He continues to be doing great and learning new things all the time. We went and had Brody's 18 month pictures taken on his half birthday a little over a week ago. Yes it was a challenge but we felt it went a little better than the 12 month session. The photographer was very patient which always helps with this age group. Mommy or Daddy just had to keep chasing Brody and bringing him back near the camera. We got one great photo of him and a really good one of our family and a few pretty good ones. You take what you can get at this point. Hopefully next time we can get him to sit still but we aren't betting on it. :)
Brody continues to pick up new language all the time. Yesterday we visited Grandma Candy and she pointed to a picture of him and asked him who it was and he said his name! Not sure if that will become a regular thing but we hope so! He has started to say cookie and has been saying ball for awhile now which puts him at a total of around 16 words. He says "real" words when he wants to but still has most conversations in his own language. We think we may have a future golfer on our hands as he is taking any long object he can find an using it to hit toys along the ground. He still really enjoys kicking balls as well and will play a mini game of soccer. He is not much of a climber but really enjoys to climb into things as opposed to onto them. He will climb into toy buckets, laundry baskets, storage containers, pretty much anything he can fit into. He will take a few toys in with him and sit in there and play (REALLY cute!!). He is currently cutting the last two of his top teeth (other than the 2 year molars which will come later) which makes for tooth number 13 and 14. Brody is regularly giving kisses to family members and the other night he saw Daddy give Mommy a kiss so he ran over and had to give us kisses too! He has been giving high fives for a few weeks now as well. He is doing really well with sharing and brings toys to anyone who will take them. He will also bring us a toy and hand it to us which means "turn it on" since we shut off the ones he is not playing with. We are working on teaching him to say "on". Brody had his first real "coloring" experience with drawing paper and big crayons this past week. He did manage to make a few lines on the paper but was more interested in trying to put the crayons in his mouth (imagine that!) Luckily Mommy has learned to be quick with him or he would have had a crayon snack. We have been getting out and enjoying the few nice days we have left and have taken Brody to the park a few times and just let him run free. Brody has enjoyed some play time with his friends Brayden and Tatum over the past two weeks and also with his cousins Jackson, Julia and Maggie. We were also invited over to play last Friday by a neighbor down the street.
Today is our wonderful dog Addison's 3rd birthday! Mommy and Brody got her a few toys at the store and a special treat. Happy Birthday Addie Girl, we all love you sooo much!! I tried to get Brody to pose for a birthday picture with Addie but no luck!
We hope everyone is doing well. We have a pretty exciting weekend planned so be sure to check out our post next week.
