Today is Grandma Barb's Birthday so we would like to wish her a very happy day! We will be celebrating with a nice dinner on Friday night at Old Chicago. We hope that Grandma has a wonderful year to come!
Not a whole lot is new around our house. Brody continues to be doing very well and is growing everyday! Yesterday he took a few steps on his own in his crib. Mommy caught him doing it twice and he went from one side to the other on his own (while he was suppose to be napping of course). It was very surprising that he would do it on the crib mattress opposed to the flat floor but we are guessing that is not far behind. He has done most things early so we really are in no rush for him to walk but are prepared for it to happen at anytime. He is getting stronger all the time with walking with is walking toys, walking while holding our hands and walking along the furniture.
Brody is really figuring out how to do things on his own, how things work and showing us how smart he is! He has mastered turning several toys on and off on his own and really enjoys spinning the wheels of all of his toys that have wheels. He can put the balls back into his Busy Ball Popper, turn it on, and watches for them to come out. If the balls are a little slow he looks right down in the hole to see where they are. He picks all the balls up, puts them back in and starts over again (this is a favorite toy I may add!) He is able to match certain blocks to what toy they go with and stick them inside. He loves drums (he has two) and knows how to play on them with his hands or an object. His alphabet drum plays music but stops when it hasn't been touched for a few minutes. When he hears the music stop, no matter where he is in the room, he goes back over to it and gives it one hit because he knows that will make the music come back on. Brody has began to show more interest in reading stories and knows how to turn the pages of a book on his own. He is very curious!
We continue to get out an enjoy the weather as much as we can. We go for daily walks and at night Brody enjoys riding around in his Cozy Coupe car or his wagon. We are beginning the first of many projects that we would like to get done around our home this summer. We hope everyone is doing well!
