Poor Little Brody-37 weeks

It has been a rough last couple of days around our house. We are very lucky to have been blessed with a baby who has slept around 12-13 hours a night since he was about 2 months old. Beginning on Thursday night, Brody started waking up every two hours crying and would take about an hour to get back to sleep, just to turn around and wake up again. We thought that he was starting to get his top two teeth because we have been able to feel them there for awhile now but they haven't quite broke through yet. On Friday night we went through the same thing, up every two or so hours. Brody wasn't running a fever and was showing no symptoms of being sick but he was acting a little crankier than normal when he was awake. Mommy decided to call the doctor on Saturday to see if they thought we should bring him in. Luckily our doctor's office is open for a few hours on Saturday mornings so we were able to get Brody in to see the doctor on call. When we arrived at the doctor's office, Brody was running a small fever just over 100 degrees. Turns out our baby has a double ear infection! The doctor assured us that this is common in babies and that we are lucky he hasn't had one sooner. So we started Brody on his medication right away and he still woke up several times in the night on Saturday but has done better the last two nights. He is taking longer naps during the day and seems to be fighting off the infection. For the most part besides waking up in the night he really didn't act any differently which is surprising for having an ear infection in both ears. On Friday night we took him to get his 9 month pictures taken (not knowing that he was sick). He is still at the stage where he is not so sure of people he doesn't know so we weren't able to get very many smiles out of him. We are hoping that by his 1 year pictures he will do better with that. But for having a double ear infection he really did great and didn't even cry while we were getting his pictures done. Brody continues to do his army crawl, he is getting faster and moving further with it as the days go by. His favorite things to get into now that he shouldn't be are the Christmas tree, Christmas lights and the Christmas garland. He tries to put all of these things in his mouth, along with anything else he can get his hands on! Other than Brody being sick for the first time things are going well. We have everything ready for Christmas and are so excited for our son to enjoy this holiday for the first time! Happy Holidays Everyone!

I am so sorry to hear about Brody. It is no fun having a sick baby. I hope he feels better soon.
