It was a wild night last night. The first of many injuries in our little mans life struck while mom was at work. Dad and Brody were playing in the Exersaucer when the little guy got a burst of energy and flung himself around and bumped his head.
Hysterical crying followed for the next 15 minutes, when finally mom walked in the door. We decided it was best we take him up to the emergency room. While there, the doctor examined him and told us his head was fine and we could go home. Fortunately we noticed he was favoring his right leg. The doctor ran some tests on his leg and everything again checked out fine and we could go. But Mommy's instincts kicked in and asked them to X ray his leg to make sure.
What came back was a fractured Tibia, just rite above his little ankle. They sent us home with a little boot on his foot. This morning we went to the foot specialist where they fit little Brody for a cast. Baby's tend to be able to wiggle out of foot casts so they fit him in a cast that goes from his toes to his upper thigh. Doctors told us this bone heals really quick and we can expect him to be out of the cast in about 2 weeks if all goes well.
Here are a few pictures of the little guy in his Cubbie Blue cast. Poor guy.

OH POOR LITTLE MAN :( Hope he is feeling better soon. He sure does look cute in a cast though. Is this from the unsafe entertainment center? Heidi
