Introducing Brody Michael Wren

Brody Michael Wren was born on Wednesday March 18 at 11:48 am. He arrived weighing 6 pounds and 2 ounces, and a length of 19 inches. Just a little guy.

It was one heck of a week. I got home from work on Monday night with Tracy telling me she was feeling some small contractions during the day. Those small contractions turned into big contractions by around 9pm that night. We sat in bed for about an hour timing the contractions, by 10pm Monday night we decided that it was time to pack the car and head to the hospital. We arrived at Trinity Terrace Park by 10:30 and Tracy was hooked up to the monitor. She was in a lot of discomfort but the monitor was not reading her contractions properly. They were ready to send us home that night but decided after seeing Tracy continuing to battle the contractions to keep us overnight. That was a very long night. We both did not sleep a wink. I sat by the bed while she tossed and turned all night going through very hard contractions about every 5 minutes.

The next morning the nurses and our doctor decided that since she had not progressed and since they were "just contractions" they would send us home. We were both very discouraged and Tracy was very upset. We got home around 10am and Tracy sat in bed and basically battled through 2 long hours of increasing contractions. We decided at that time, that we were heading back to the hospital and they were admitting us whether they liked it or not. The entire day on Tuesday was spent fighting contractions. Finally our doctor decided to administer some relief, but it did not take and Tracy continued to fight. At this point we had both been up for about 36 hours and were very tired. That night had to be one of the most difficult nights we've ever faced. Her contractions grew and I had to simply be a cheerleader. I felt very helpless.

At about 4am on Wednesday morning we began to move around a bit, back and forth between the bed and the bathroom until around 5am Tracy's water broke. This was a great sigh of relief for both of us. It meant she was progressing and that we would be having a baby soon. Around 6:30 that morning we saw our doctor who told us that Tracy was dilated to a 6 and moving along nicely. After that everything seemed to move at a rapid pace. By 10am that morning she was fully dilated and ready to give birth. It was at 11am that Tracy began labor and through the grace of God she made short work of it. He was born at 11:48 that morning and at that moment our lives changed forever.

It was truly the most amazing moment of our lives. I wanted to be hands on and be involved in every minute of this miracle. That moment when he arrived was very emotional, inspirational and life changing. I will never forget our doctor handing Tracy our new son. He was perfect in every way.

The next few days we enjoyed many visitors, cards, flowers and calls from great friends and family. We want to thank everyone who helped us through this amazing time in our lives. We are so greatful to have such wonderful family and supportive friends. Tracy is the one that deserves all the credit, she has given us the greatest gift anyone could ask for. We are now home and slowly adjusting to being parents and loving every minute of it.

Below are some pictures of our special day.
